Our journey and passion
NETARR was inspired by a deep love for birds and a desire to give those in need a second chance. Seeing parrots surrendered, misunderstood, neglected, or simply needing a safe place showed us how important dedicated avian rescue is in Northeast Tennessee. Our passion comes from helping each bird heal, learn to trust again, and eventually find the right forever home. Through rescue, rehabilitation, education, and responsible placement, our goal is to improve the lives of birds and the people who love them. Every bird deserves a safe place to land.
Why avian rescue matters
Parrots and exotic birds are incredibly intelligent, emotional, and unique animals. Each one has its own personality, preferences, and way of communicating, which makes building trust with them incredibly rewarding. Their care is especially important because many can live for decades and require specialized nutrition, enrichment, socialization, and understanding. Helping a bird recover, feel safe, and find the right home is what makes rescue work so meaningful to us.
Meet the dedicated team
NETARR is powered by a dedicated team of rescuers, foster families, volunteers, and bird advocates who share a passion for avian welfare. Our team brings experience in bird handling, behavior, rehabilitation, nutrition, enrichment, rescue coordination, and responsible rehoming. Each person contributes something different, but we all share the same goal: giving every bird the individualized care, patience, and second chance they deserve.
They are great I've had to rehome two of my babies because I was not able to care for them properly. I'm glad they have such a kind person looking after them.
